【飛行機で英語を学ぶ#17】Picture Description 7 Emergency Aircraft On The Ramp

In this photo we see a Boeing 787, the Dreamliner, standing on the ramp. There is clearly some kind of an emergency situation going on here.
The wide-body passenger jet of Ethiopian Airlines is standing with all emergency exit doors open. It is surrounded by emergency vehicles including two fire trucks as well as some ground personnel. Obviously, the fire trucks have been using foam to put out the fire. Some of the foam is still covering the surface around the aircraft.
However, at this point, it is hard to detect any visible damage that the aircraft might have suffered. I can see neither smoke nor open flames and it remains unclear what part of the aircraft exactly caught fire.
What is more surprising about this situation is that the emergency slides have not been activated. So we can assume that there has been no passenger evacuation. Supposedly, the incident happened when the airliner was on a remote parking stand with no passengers onboard. Anyway, the airport apron and maneuvering area is always a busy and dangerous place. Ramp incidents involving fire are quite frequent. Most of them are caused by collisions with other aircraft, ground objects, vehicles and equipment, and also by aircraft malfunctions or ground handling errors. In most cases they are serious enough to entail injuries and even fatalities and require immediate response of the aircraft rescue and fire fighting team.

In this photo we see a Boeing 787, the Dreamliner, standing on the ramp.
ここではstanding on the rampとなっていますが、parked at the gateやparked at the rampでも可能です。

There is clearly some kind of an emergency situation going on here.
There is some kind of ~はいろいろな場合につかえるので覚えておきましょう。

The wide-body passenger jet of Ethiopian Airlines is standing

with all emergency exit doors open.

It is surrounded by
emergency vehicles including two fire trucks as well as some ground personnel.
またandの代わりにas well as を使っています。
We can see two fire trucks, one ambulance, some other emergency vehicles and ground personnel around the aircraft.

Obviously,

the fire trucks have been using foam to put out the fire.
「消火する」はextinguish a fireかput out a fireになります。

Some of the foam is still covering the surface around the aircraft.
The surface around the aircraft is still covered with some of the foam.

However, at this point,

it is hard to detect any visible damage

that the aircraft might have suffered.

I can see neither smoke nor open flames
I can not see smoke or open flames

and it remains unclear what part of the aircraft exactly caught fire.
it is hard to say for sure that which part of the aircraft caught fire.
のようにit is hard to say for sureで代用しても問題ありません。

What is more surprising about this situation is that
過去にwhat is remarkable is that~という言い方がありましたがこれも同じです。

the emergency slides have not been activated.

So we can assume that there has been no passenger evacuation.

Supposedly,

the incident happened when the airliner was on a remote parking stand with no passengers onboard.
was at a remote bayでも問題ありません。

The airport apron and maneuvering area is always a busy and dangerous place.

Ramp incidents involving fire are quite frequent.
「しょっちゅある」はbe quite frequentまたはwe often haveを使います。

Most of them are caused by collisions with other aircraft, ground objects, vehicles and equipment, and also by aircraft malfunctions or ground handling errors.

In most cases they are serious enough to entail injuries and even fatalities

and require immediate response of the aircraft rescue and fire fighting team.
